Hello, good afternoon. Well, you don't have to make an appointment or make a call and English is spoken, the only thing is that if you have to arrive well in the morning at least 8 in the morning, be in that place to take a good position and also because it gets very crowded.

They have the typical park sytle grills on premises, just bring charcoal and your food. But they are saying to limit groups to 10 or fewer, not sure if/how they are enforcing it. And obviously grills/picnic areas are first come first serve.

The fishing at Fort Small Wood is great! Many folks set up along the rocky shore line and catch good size strippers but I believe its 18 inches and up to keep. I don't enjoy fishing the rocky shore line because I usually get snagged up and lose my tackle... I prefer fishing the Bill Burton pier. The fishing is excellent early in the morning and evenings it really starts to heat up. The perch are plentiful and recently catfish were running but you can also catch strippers, spots and croakers.. I acidentally caught a cownose gray or a sting ray/skate but it got off... I would recommend this park as a great place to fish or hang out by yourself or with family..

Mostly striped bass (seasonal). Some white perch, red drum, black drum, occasional bluefish. Can't go wrong with bait. Blood worms or cut bait. You'll have to get a tidal license to fish the bay and can be purchased online.
