Busy and people need to learn how to drive their boats, but it was full of nice people who will wave to you and kick up conversations. I went kayaking for the first time, and boaters should possibly be watched here, some don't care about you or the unpoliced water ways and drive faster than they should to the channel. But we had a great time and it was beautiful! To the mariner staff...if you meant the back most path for the water to be cut off, it was, you might think about moving some of the plants back, but I could also understand not doing that. Also, just after the mariner sign and dock facing the channel and train brdige (on the water) near one of the last buyes before the back dead end path in the reeds...there was drift wood or a rock that caught my Kayak, it wasn't visible in the higher tide, and was after we made our circuit. It would be an issue for someone who didn't know about it...like me when I got caught on it on my first time kayaking, lol

It's great and there are lots of different types biting. And lots of recently built little private fishing piers with rails and benches, tucked in the trees all along the river. They are easily accessible by the walking path. Can't miss it. You can go sit on one of those fishing decks with probably 6 people comfortably, without seeing another soul except for maybe an occasional jogger going past on the path. Also many different kinds of colorful birds, and black squirrels. They're beautiful.
There's not much beach to hunt on. There's a boat ramp and fishing pier. I haven't walked around the whole area, tho, so perhaps in an area I haven't seen yet. There doesn't seem to be any one on the grounds to monitor.
It's free
Good places to fish, but can be somewhat crowded at times.
No lighting on the smaller fishing piers as far as I know the park closes at dusk.
Best place is past the railroad bridge to the left or anywhere passed the Mariner point sign to the left
Go past the boat ramps to the 1st big parking lot on the right side
I have flown my drone from Gunpowder Park over to Mariner Point.
There is a Park office just past the gate entrance on the left. I don't know if you need to inquire with them. There's usually an employee inside there on weekdays when I go there.
Yes
