I'm seeing a 3.8 star rating for this program or for the Fuel Fund of Maryland service or whatever. I cannot for the life of me see why that is. From the moment my husband and I walked into the office of Community Action who then referred us to the Fuel Fund due to being over their income threshold, we were treated like an understanding family. Once we contacted Fuel Fund, it took LESS THAN 24 HOURS to get our electric service up and running again. Unbelievably fast service and very easy communication and processing. You don't realize how good you have it until your electric gets turned off and then restored. So many people out there are 100% worse off than us and many others. If you are not aware of how this program works, just know it's the people in your state and even own communities who donate their own funds to help those out in need. Hence, availability limited to what is available at any given time. I will certainly be giving back to my community by dontating back this program. Amazing! Thank you so much to all who contributed and to those reading this because you too need help like we did....Keep your heads held up high because you're going to be ok and get back on your feet again soon! Sincerely Yours ~Nikki

The Fund provided prompt assistance, the application was fast and simple, they gave very clear payment terms, and they were willing and able to go above and beyond to help people. After payment was submitted the power was back on in a few hours.

The Office of Home Energy Programs (OHEP) provides bill assistance to low-income households in the State of Maryland to make their energy costs more affordable and to help with the prevention of loss and the restoration of home energy service. OHEP provides four separate grants: The Maryland Energy Assistance Program (MEAP): The Maryland Energy Assistance Program (MEAP) provides assistance grants to help with home heating bills. Payments are made to the fuel supplier and utility company on the customer’s behalf. The Electric Universal Service Program (EUSP): The Electric Universal Service Program (EUSP) provides financial assistance with electric bills. Eligible customers receive help that pays a portion of their current electric bills. Some EUSP participants may qualify for assistance with past due electric bills as well as referrals to energy efficiency programs. Customers who receive EUSP are placed on a budget billing plan with utility company. https://myoh #howdidyoureact

Yes , they will help but only pay half of Water bill now.
Ms. Jones: The Fuel Fund of Maryland does NOT assist with furnace or HVAC issues. We provide financial assistance to low income households who have a turn off notice from BGE. We do provide financial assistance for those with bulk fuel (heating oil) between November and March and are struggling to pay. To receive help from the Fuel Fund either will electric or bulk fuel, please review the link below for eligibility requirements: https://fuelfundmaryland.org/get-help/eligibility-requirements

Mr. Jackson: Sorry for the inconvenience. Class sizes can be difficult during certain times of the year and since we are a non profit we need to make sure that those resources are spent wisely and appropriately which means we may need to cancel a class here or there based on attendance size. Again, our apologies, but know that we are truly spending our resources wisely.
They may have been calling you from Retrofit or Zerodraft to provide home energy efficiency solutions to you that you signed up for during Watt Watchers. Does that sound familiar?
Energy assistance started a new program year on July 1, 2018. You will need to complete that process again, before applying for the Fuel Fund.
You can apply for assistance (a grant of up to $236.00) through OHEP and they will help you start the process of initiating a Water Payment Agreement. You will complete the contract with the water department when you pay your agreed upon down payment.
Yes , be there before 8:30@
