Decided not to look through any of my bags saying “it’s not worth looking through” very rude employees with attitude and then I ask them to look through another one of my bags and they answered with “I guess” did not take anything when there was some good stuff in there….I know they’re picky store but I didn’t think they were gonna be that picky. Treated me like I was stupid.

Plato's Closet is a consignment/second hand shop. It is a big store and has a TON of clothes for women and men. I believe that it is a store for juniors/young adults, but I shop there and I'm 52😉. The shop is very clean and well organized. I have come across plenty of garments with original tags still on. No dirty, smelly, or damaged clothing. Also, shoes, jewelry, hats, belts, purses, scarves, winter coats... just so much stuff. All organized. There is also a clearance rack and they have special clearance times. The cashier has always been friendly and patient with us. This and Style Encore are the first stops for me and our daughters before hitting the mall or department stores.

I don’t think anyone in there knows how to smile. Everyone was so rude. Asked if they had a restroom I could use girl said “hold on” and grabbed key and walked to bathroom. I followed her and she never said one word to me. The bathroom smell was horrible. Took lots of good prices of clothing there and they didn’t even go through the clothes cause most of them were still folded the way I put them in bag.

I used to love this store so much but lately the employees are lazy. Don’t look through your clothes when buying and leave bags untouched before passing on items. Meanwhile the store is full of SHEIN (and other cheap fast fashion brand) products that you could easily buy for less brand new.

They will pretty much buy anything that is in style right now. I would take all of it up there and they can pick through it.
I think 18 i'f not than 16 i's the youngest.
No limit on how much you can bring in at once. We are looking for teen and young adult styles that have been in stores in the last 6 months to a year so think middle school, high school and early college styles
Not traditional consignment as we purchase the items from you and you receive cash know the spot.
We are always looking for teen and young adult clothing and accessories including handbags, jewelry and shoes. Always cash on the spot for what we can purchase
We go up to size 3x and focus on teen and young adult styles that are trendy in the last year to year and a half
Hi Gail. We at Platos Closet do not purchase formal attire including prom and homecoming dresses. We focus on teen and Young adult casual styles
They buy (speaking in women's apparel) brands like Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, H&M, Hollister, American Eagle, etc. From clothing, athletic wear, shoes, hats, and purses. I've been to several around the country, and what they pay you for your lightly used items may vary. I sold a pair of brand new ankle boots from Charlotte Russe (retailed about 25 dollars), and was given about four or five dollars in return. I would expect to profit 1/7th or less of what I originally paid for the item. Also, seeing as winter is upon us, they will turn away from items like skirts and shorts. Each individual store usually will have a sign in store providing what kind of clothing they are looking for, even as far as colours. Save your time before going in and call the particular store first, asking what they are looking for. They will not hesitate to turn down clothes that are also out of fashion. I once brought in 53 items, and was disappointed to find only 2-3 items met their requirements. Good luck!
