I wish I could give this place a negative number. Yes, a resident vandalized the building by flooding one side of it, but that has nothing to do with elevators constantly breaking down, at times trapping someone in them or door handles falling off the entrance door to the apartment, trapping someone in tbem. Residents should not have to report items needing repair multiple times. For over a month, I have been reporting my freezer door popping open and I have to keep it taped shut. That is a minor inconvenience though compaired to residents not having hot water to clean with or take a shower. Or other residents who have not had working A/C and reported it for months while other residents are freezing. The horror story of roaches and bedbugs are all true. Constant changing of managers and maintenance employees should not become the residents problem, yet Edgewood Management has used that excuse to residents as to why things were so bad. Requests for "reasonable accommodations" under the ADA go ignored or take over 8 months of constant fighting with management to be done. This building is designated for "seniors or disabled" so why does everyone have to fight for simple accommodations to be done?!? The excuse this building is so old does not fly. The building isn't even 50 years old and Annapolis is full of buildings much older. In my opinion, the problem is due to owners who dont want to put any more money into properly maintaining this building than legally required to do and never have given enough funds to the "skeleton" maintenance crew to properly maintain it. The parking lot is a joke. Parking is a joke. They have approximately 78 parking spaces for 175 apartments. I have had to call friends and family on several occasions to stay at tbeir homes because absolutely no where to park. Yet there are vehicles taking up spaces that are just used for additional storage and never go anywhere. Claiborne Place really has so many issues. These are constant as is the smell of illegal drugs and rules constantly being ignored. Or should I say the rules dont apply to all residents equally?

Claiborne Place is a threat to the health and safety of its' tenants. Leaking pipes, mold, mildew, out of certification elevators, essential utilities constantly turned off, incompetent management who threaten residents with eviction for complaining or organizing. It's time to replace Edgewood and Vantage Management with a company that knows how to provide safe housing that doesn't pose a threat to the health of residents. A company that understands HUD regulations and the rights of tenants to organize. We've just begun to fight.

i am so disgusted to hear a resident flooded the entire building and seein residents blame management!!!! yes things are slow at getting repaired but this building is old and the residents bully each other constantly and gossip and backstab each other...…. the new manager and her team are doin the best they can. the residents should be ashamed of themselves!!!!!!!!
Frightened Resident
I have lived at Claiborne Place for over 5 years and it is horrible. The stories about mold, cockroaches and water leaks are all true. The elevators never work and they locked up the community room. Management threatened to evict anyone who complained, and I'm afraid. I'm tired of having my water and air conditioning turned off, but now I'm frightened to say anything about it. There was an article in the Capital Gazette about it on July 14. I hope somebody does something to help.
