My mother was a resident for six months at Silver Creek. Initially placed in Assisted Living and after two months due to her health declined, transitioned to Enhanced Assisted Living. I found the majority of the staff to be caring. I had circumstances where flexibility was needed on my mother's behalf and in almost all cases, the Executive Director favorably approved my requests. Even the main corporate home office worked with me on mom's behalf. I found the nursing staff to be extremely helpful and truly cared about my mother. I would recommend Silver Creek to family members needing care. The facility is well maintained, clean and the maintenance staff were very helpful. The Assisted Living dining experience is top notch. The front desk personnel also went above and beyond to assist. Office personnel were professional. I believe I made a wise decision to place my mother at Silver Creek.

My 98 year old father came to Silver Creek as we could no longer provide the care he needed. He LOVED Silver Creek... beautiful room, great staff, great service. They take care of everything. Very responsive. The move-in/contract process is a bit cumbersome, as I was doing it remotely from 1000 miles away. But they were very accomodating. Communications are excellent. A+

My experience with Silver Creek was not excellent. I tried to get my Mother a room in memory care, and we completed all of the paperwork, assessment, forms and had a move in date. The day we were to sign which was three days before the move in date we received a call that due to a new county restriction she could not move in without 14 days in quarantine and we would have to pay for her full time care while in quarantine. We lost our in home care provider, potential income, and we will have to move Mom in with us until we can find another facility. They said there was nothing that could be done to rectify so we just got put in a terrible predicament and lost out on the in home care provider we had for her. After calling several other facilities in the same county, we found out no other facility had any knowledge of the county restriction. Very upset with the way they handled this predicament, and it put us in a horrible position. Take the time to search for other facilities before moving your loved one in here. We found several others that were more than accommodating.

We had to move my mom out of the Silver Creek memory care wing after about 6 weeks. The facility is beautiful but the care in the memory wing is dreadful. I visited daily for an hour but did not have peace of mind leaving mom in their care after observing conditions. We lost our deposit but found a smaller, less expensive facility with excellent care, great food, clean, no odors at all in the building, caring and responsive staff, great activities, and a workable building layout for people with dementia. My mother thrived at the new place and passed away peacefully in her room a year later at the age of 99. The problems I saw at Silver Creek are too numerous to mention here, but it is a dangerous place for someone who can’t fend for themselves. For example: violent residents; found a man with dementia in mother’s room one night when I dropped by unexpectedly; her entire wardrobe was lost by the laundry for 5 days and was finally discovered in another wing; continued lack of sanitation in the bathroom; supervisory staff promises the moon but doesn’t deliver; urine and musty smells throughout the wing and in mom’s room; no emergency pull cord in mother’s bathroom when she fell; residents are not supervised as they need to be with dementia. I didn’t realize it then, but the large rooms and spacious hallways are too big for people with dementia. They were constantly breaking into each other’s rooms but you weren’t allowed to lock the doors. And so many more issues! The smaller place we found was perfect for Mom—very clean, small functional room, kind and attentive staff, no odors , safe environment. Even the food was better and more healthy. It was a lot of trouble to move Mom again and a great disappointment to our family to have been let down by Silver Creek. The memory care director is no longer there. She tried to remedy things, but the situation was unworkable. (If you are considering assisted living or independent living, you might like Silver Creek. I am only speaking here about our experiences in the memory care wing.)
