Food was delicious, when it finally came out! But it was a really long wait. We were at the bar. The customers who sat to the left and right of us came after we did. They both got there orders ate and left before we got our food. We ordered another round of drinks while waiting on our food. Thankfully we were enjoying the conversation and our new friends at the bar chatting away. Over an hours wait for our dinner to be served. Perhaps they were out at the lake catching the fish. The bartender finally said that the kitchen lost our order and apologized. There was no compensation for the mistake or our wait other than the kitchen lost our order. Not sure when the days of a manager or owner acknowledging a problem and coming over to apologize stopped. A complementary drink, or dessert for out inconvenience would have been appreciated. The food was delicious, the drink was very tasty- but for such a fine establishment and for the price point - I do expect not to be forgotten when it comes to my order. Perhaps my bad, for not asking where my food was- however since we had placed our order and the bar is quite small- its not like our bartender couldn't see we hadn't gotten our dinner while those around us who ordered after were eating dinner and paying there tab leaving and we still waited. I will return when i am back in Pawling, bc yes the food is that good. But this experience wasn't there best foot forward.

When I ask my wife what she wants for her birthday, anniversary, Valentine's Day, Christmas, thanksgiving, international donut day, or just-because-it's-Friday... the answer is always a cake from McKinney and Doyle. They really are the best cakes, partially because unlike so many other places they don't overload them with sugar. It's cake the way cake is meant to be. You finish eating it and you don't feel like you're immediately about to have a diabetic emergency. They're also beautiful and delicious. This is also the one and only place where I can order a black coffee. Everywhere else I need cream and sometimes sugar. But the coffee here is AMAZING. The chips and guacamole are also amazing and delicious, but... a little overpriced in our opinion. 🤷‍♂️

Each time I walk into McKinney and Doyle's restaurant I immediately get a sense of well-being and hometown warmth. But don't let that fool you. The drinks and the menu are nothing but top notch. Andrew is fantastic. He never mind getting his hands dirty and facilitating a very busy night but manages to give a big smile and greeting and a big goodbye when we leave. Such a unique menu offers choices for every pallet and each one surpasses the other. My only wish is that I could go there every night! They also have wonderful and creative brunches and lunches during the weekend. Again, just wonderful!

Fantastic! I was there for a price fixed dinner with the Mid Hudson Food & Wine Society. In a historic building, tin ceilings, lots of wood, warm & cozy. Great ambience!
