It has been 2 years since we last stayed at this campground which we have enjoyed over the past several years. This 4th of July weekend was a complete madhouse with almost no enforcement. The general atmosphere is not one of enjoying the peace and quiet of the outdoors but giant family gatherings with complete disregard for fellow campers and the campground itself. With the campground at almost double capacity the two pit toilets were a disgusting mess. It's was so loud (music, non stop barking dogs and screaming kids). The sheriff had to come up because someone brandished a gun during some kerfuffle over a stolen campsite. Overall it's a beautiful campground and it used to be a pleasant positive experience but not anymore (at least not on the busier weekends). Camp at own risk.

Great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

We'll definitely be back. The dogs loved the hikes!

Quiet and lots of trees. At the time we were there, there were not too many campers so was nice. In the middle of all the campsites is a spring so kids can play, then there is a creek at the entry of all the campsites that has trout in it. We will definitely go back.

No. The water is snow run off. If your going to out there a couple of days your gonna have to boil water. It's a very beautiful place to camp. This will be our 4 time going since last year.
Only if you are staying in a state campground. If you are staying in a forest service Campground you will have to pay a fee. Signs at the entrance to all campgrounds will indicate whether they require a Discovery Pass or a forest service fee.
No reservations. First come first serve. We drive almost two hours and have always found a good spot.
So you can reserve but it's not necessary? And it cost 8 a night after
There are out houses at most camp grounds Only a few do not.
Right now you can only fish in the ponds no River fishing quite yet . Camping is also amazing we go here every year all summer long
Always open. Probably snow on the eastside of the campground but the west will be snow free. If I was going higher than that campground (end of the paved road) I would bring some type of saw, preferably a chain saw. Wet, windy spring storms can and will fall trees on that road as well as the spur roads.
Depending on which camp ground and it has to be in the fire ring
Is their a no burn ban in place right now? Or how can you find out?
There are over 30 campsites up and down tucannon. The main site has about 15ish
You can get your trailer into any of the campgrounds in the Tucannon with the exception of Lady bug and above. Although I have seen trailers up there the gravel road is, in places, narrow, and is always in poor shape.
We were there a year ago and searched hard for campfire control signage but could not find any anywhere. So we had a fire and it was great. But their website shows fire danger level in upper right corner for Tucannon Campground page. Hopefully the link below will get you directly to that page, otherwise search within the page following the link for it. https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/umatilla/recarea/?recid=56877
