This is a great place for a family vacation. The staff was awesome and Jason runs the place like a champ. Tons to do, super good food and the cabins were great. Micah, Kenny and Hannah were great wranglers. The few bad reviews seem to be from climbers who don’t understand the bigger picture of the ranch and what primitive, 1st come 1st served camping is all about.

The cabins are beautiful. We stayed overnight then did climbing in the morning and zipline in the afternoon. Our climbing guide Jason was absolutely amazing, helping us feel comfortable and challenge ourselves while doing a terrifying activity. There is no free fall feeling on the zipline so it’s scary getting started but 100% fun for me. 10/10 reccomend!

Great climbing, views, and overall vibe. You'll find lots of friendly people here from all over the midwest. It's got a variety of routes as well as an endearing bumpy road that is sure to enthrall and delight all passengers (especially in the back of the minivan) on the way down and back up again to the sites. Three cheers to a happy third trip to horseshoe canyon ranch, I'll likely be back again soon. - Klimbing Celli from Kolumbia, Missouri

I love this place. Everyone is so friendly and the climbing is great for all skill ranges. It is really good for people new to climbing and new to outdoor climbing. This is the second time I have been here. It is just over 10hrs away for but but worth it eventhough I just get 1 day and a few hours the next day to climb.

It is open for sure, for climbing
I petted Diesel! Scooby may still be there, but I didn't see him. My horses were Bartender and Frankenbooty.
No, it's just tent camping or if you had one of those conversion kits for a truck or something like that. They have bathrooms and a shower for campers
If your camping only you'll have to bring your own food and equipment. Food there is usually for people renting cabins and lodging there. Usually $4-5 per person for a night of camping. Camp sites have fire pits and theres usually fire wood for sale on the side of the roads coming into town.
Rita, just to correct the above statement - the ranch only as 50 horses. There is a horse for every level of rider!
You can go rock climbing for a fee but you have to be staying at the ranch to ride the horses. So in other words you have to be staying in one of the ranches cabins to be able to ride the horses.
Horseshoe Cannon is fairly easy to find. There are signs along the road. However daylight always help. The cabins are also easy to access. However the last part of the drive is dirt. No pavement as fter you turn off 74. It not far to your check in and cabin. About a mile of dirt is my guess.
