I was an In patient for only a few days of being mislead, mistreated which caused me to isolate myself to avoid any more uncomfortable situations which was the reason I was awoken out of my sleep to be told I was no longer welcome for ultimately my depression and anxiety also due to my lack of energy which causes my interactions to be minimal. I ate breakfast, lunch, dinner then immediately went to my dirty room with no pillows and went back to sleep. I was promised transportation which was also a lie so I was stranded until I found my own. Im sure the passive aggressive male & female staff meant to try to be decent however failed at the attempt to help an individual in need. Not being able to even wash my clothes completed this disaster of an experience. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. A very unprofessional and unfriendly place to be that will get physical with you and treat you like less of a person if you don’t have the personality they enjoy. They do not care if you need help there patients are a a means of entertainment to them. Sadly. Calling my family while they are at work and worrying them with confidential conversations I had with a therapist. They say they care at mirmont unfortunately they do NOT in my experience.

Fantastic staff. Caring atmosphere. Relapse prevention therapy. First responder therapy. I’m sober now 8 years. Mirmont saved my life. I owe them a debt of gratitude.

Huge place lots of land. It is coed so women n men together but they have different hallways one fore me to sleep unless they have room availavble in one hallway n girl or guys need s room but they try to keep sleeping area seperated. During daytime breaks and all lunches women and men can interact just not allowed to be 1guy n 1woman. They have basketball courts, very nice gym to workout, unless its dark we were allowed to all be in the same area outside if they still allow smoking but once sun starts going down men have to smoke mens lounge n women at women's lounge. That place probably saved my life, along with going to meetings everyday starting the day i was done there. Still have my gold coin from my laat night there before leaving the next day an they have whoever is leaving "coin out". Also FOOD there was not bad at all and good variety

I would call and ask

Is there long term treatment after the initial 28 days? I have been to a few 28 day treatment facilities but always seem to relapse. I have insurance but would insurance cover long term treatment?

Usually following inpatient detox the standard of care would be to step down to IOP which is intensive outpatient treatment and yes Mirmont has those programs as does other centers such as Rehab After Work and Livengrin which have been around and in this area for over a decade. It's essential that after inpatient treatment you continue with intensive treatment of some sort whether it's a structured program like these above or you create your own which ultimately is the goal of therapy... independence and not needing treatment but the way to do that is to step down from intensive to less intensive treatment. The trifecta of therapy that works for addiction treatment is individual therapy, group therapy and support meetings. Your individual therapist should be your quarterback and cornerstone and help you decide when your are ready to step down or step up. Approximately seventy percent relapse in the first year. IOP is usually covered by insurance.

Call them and ask because most treatment centers have contracts with several different insurance companies and can bill your insurance as "out of network" which means they don't have a contract but your insurance company is allowed to pay you back for going there but Mirmont will know how to advise you. You can also call your insurance company and ask them for the names of programs or therapists who you can see in network or out of network. Therapists and treatment centers are always happy to speak on the phone to explanation how these things work. Where can I find the email addresses of administrators at Mirmont?

I would go directly to Main Line Health corporate. Peg and Tom are definitely high up but I wouldn't stop there if you have an issue. Start here...https://www.mainlinehealth.org/about/contact-us Also, request/demand your own patient advocate. This person is strictly for your benefit.
