This is a very cool and well known landmark located just across the Snake River from Marsing along highway 55. They hold Easter services on the top and the views of the valley are amazing. This extinct volcano has a very distinct feature that resembles a lizard when viewed from across the river. How fitting a Lizard standing guard over the Snake, two of many creatures in this high desert. As always leave it better than you found it and enjoy 😉.

Lizard Butte, it's worth a climb. Try the path least traveled.
