Husband and I both tested positive for the covid never even received a phone call. We tested in medical facilities, lots of room for improvement. Questions still go unanswered.

Happy to have the facility available. It is good to see something positive in the former school building. Asset to the community. Ample parking and the fact that every is on one floor provides easy access. Staff was efficient and pleasant.

Questions & Answers

Is there a place in Jefferson County offering the Johnson & Johnson vaccination?

Marion Ward | Oct 1, 2021
Jefferson County Public Health Service | Oct 1, 2021

Currently, Johnson and Johnson vaccine is provided in limited supply to us for people who are homebound and can not go out to a vaccine. This week we began vaccinating our home health patients. As more supply is received by NYS and filtered to us, other groups will then be eligible.

Yes, you can. Our immunization clinic is every Wednesday afternoon. If he is not insured, we can provide the vaccine at no cost. There will be an administration fee, and that is on a sliding scale based on income. Please call 315-786-3720 to schedule an appointment.

Should a person who has had recent direct contact with someone who tested positive for Covid come back to work ? I know someone who did this and I am wondering if I should be in quarantine rather than risking my health ?

Cheryl Reed | Oct 1, 2021

Current New York State Department of Health guidelines state “Individuals who have been exposed to someone with confirmed or suspected COVID-19, who are not fully vaccinated or have not recovered from COVID-19 in the previous 3 months, are required to quarantine for 10 days after exposure.” So if this person was fully vaccinated at the time of exposure or recently infected, they do not need to quarantine. However, they must still monitor for symptoms and self-isolate if they do develop symptoms.

I had my second shingles shot on 1/9/21. How long do I have to wait to get the vaccine Thank you Frank

CDC recommends that the vaccine series should routinely be administered alone, and not within 14 days before or after any other vaccination.

I work in an office that deals with the public and I am being told that I and my clerk do not have to wear a mask if we are 6 ft. away from customers and that the mask does not have to cover the nose if we are 6 ft. away.

Cheryl Reed | Oct 1, 2020
michael berrus | Oct 1, 2020

How do you feel about not wearing your mask around customers even if they are 6 ft. From you. Do you personally feel that you're safer than if you were wearing it? Take my advise and wear it anyways. It's not worth the risk. You may be given bad advice. The main thing with this virus is protect yourself and those around you at all cost. Unless you like taking risks with your life. Noone really knows what this virus is capable of. For heaven sakes think smart.
