I have been taking my 13 lb dog to Barb’s since 2015 and had a wonderful experience. Barb was great, her staff friendly and reasonably priced. She retired in 2021 and sold her business to Zuma’s. I tried them in February 2022 prices had increased to $50. Thought I would try them again and prices had increased again by another $30. It now costs $80 to have my dog groomed. When asked if I would like to schedule a future appointment, I told the manager Zuma had priced itself right out of my patronage.

My dog has been seeing Barb for several years now. We showed up to an appointment 6 months ago only to find out Barb had retired and sold the practice to Zumas. I decided to give them a try and it was fine the first time. We made another appointment. When I showed up to pick up my dog after the last appointment, her haircut was choppy and still much too long. I expressed some concern and the owner, Christine, was very nice and told me they would fix it. While I was there, Barb walked in. They told me she couldn’t stay away and was grooming a few days a week. I was so happy and asked if I could make my next appointment with Barb. They told me yes, told me a date and time. I got a confirmation text. I showed up today for that appointment and Christine walked out, told me they were full for the day and couldn’t take my dog. I told her I set the appointment 10 weeks ago and had the confirmation text. I told her it was supposed to be with Barb. She was very rude and treated me like I was stupid, denying Barb had ever come back to work there and denying I had ever made the appointment even though I had physical proof. She then told me they have one new groomer and the base rate is now $75 no exceptions. I had paid $50 the past 2 times I had gone. We left and needless to say, we will never return.

When barb owned it, this place was fantastic. The new ownership doesn’t care about the customers at all. All they are focused on is how they can gouge every cent from their customers. Paid 70 in April and picked up my pup to be charged 125 in May. There was a 55 dollar dog specific breeding, which is a charge that the groomer gets to decide on that day…. I have never experienced such an inconsistent and shamelessly ran business.

Groomer did not show up and found out they more than doubled their price. Very disappointed.
