Another KC metro office that refuses to treat sports hernia patients.

Dr Wheeler is awesome! Each time I've been to see him I've left knowing my heath is important to him and I didn't feel like just "another" patient. He takes time with each patient, is caring, listens, and explains things well. He exudes empathy. He will also tell it like it is. The fact that several of his family members work alongside him makes his clinic special in my eyes. Overall, I am thankful to have found a doctor that takes his profession to heart and places the care of his each of his patients seriously. From the moment you're greeted by Julie when you arrive you are taken care of. The atmosphere of the office is upbeat and caring. Thank you Dr Wheeler and staff. You all rock!!

Dr. Wheeler and his staff are very professional and competent. I would recommend his services to anyone. I have used him for several years now and I continue to go back unfortunately I have a problem that will probably never be fixed but he certainly helps it to feel better for a good period of time.

Very helpfull, professional. I felt the like I was important to them and that I would be accurately diagnosed and treated. I didn't have insurance but felt welcomed just the same. Give them a #10

Questions & Answers

Why in the world would you pray for somebody having surgery ?

Thank you for your question. We didn’t even know there was an option for questions on here, so we apologize for not responding. Pain is hard. Having pain every day takes a toll on a person. A toll physically, mentally, financially, with relationships, with jobs, with activities. It also affects people spiritually. We can’t always get people better, but we try. We also try to see the whole person and care for that whole person. A prayer is not something we do for everybody and it is not forced on anyone. It is an extension of the care that we feel and want to give. It is a realization that the people we treat are more than just patients. They are a whole person with many, many parts that make up that whole. Thanks again for the question.

Why is it that when it comes to insurance you could care less?

We are on the same side. We are fighting insurance daily. I am part of the Kansas Board of Healing Arts and I can tell you that there are many other people involved with the State of Kansas that are very concerned with what insurance is doing. I have had discussions with state lawyers, Medicare lawyers and I am supposed to have a meeting with Medicare set up by Senator Moran’s office soon. The insurance companies have bought influence for years and now are making record profits at the expense of patient care and patient health. I don’t think this will change until enough people start calling their elected officials. While I don’t think a government run system is the answer (because, like Medicare and Medicaid, they would just turn it over to the insurance companies anyway) something needs to be done.
