While I am biased against larger corporations and do prefer to shop local, I went to Home Depot here in Jasper to search for a refrigerator due to mine finally quitting on me last night, so this was a time-sensitive matter. I went to a local store before going here, and ended up buying locally after leaving here, but I DO NOT recommend buying any time-sensitive items here nor expecting the customer service to be more than extremely poor. I went to the appliances section and began looking at refrigerators. There were two ladies just standing there in that department talking to one another, and neither came up to me to talk to me about what I was looking for. When I approached them, I asked for help and told them what I was looking for, and one of the ladies made a smart comment about "not working this department;" however, there was no one else in the department so I just figured she could help me. Regardless, what does it really matter if she didn't work in that department? Shouldn't she still have the knowledge of and willingness to help a customer in that area if she's going to work there? I really wish I would have gotten her name so that I could post it in this review. Her verbal and nonverbal behavior very evidently displayed that she was annoyed with me asking for help. After telling her exactly what I was looking for, she didn't even take me to that section to show me what was available. Also, I understand that larger corporations get backed up and do not always have products in stock, but she made the generalization that everything I was seeing on the floor was not in stock instead of actually checking for me. Again, she was extremely rude. I ended up leaving there and reminded myself to trust my gut with shopping local instead of a place like this. And that was confirmed with my choice of doing business with Sides Furniture in Dora in which I was able to purchase and have delivered the refrigerator all within a matter of an hour or so. If your needs aren't time sensitive and Home Depot is the only store that you believe carries what you need, I'm not saying don't go looking there for the things you are needing. But I am saying call or look around locally to see if anyone else has the same product because I can guarantee at least two things: (1) if they don't have it in stock, they will do business with you to make sure you get what you need, and (2) they will, 9 out of 10 of the time, be much more hospitable, helpful, and take their time to help you with your individualized needs as opposed to this corporation at least. I will NOT be returning to this store for any needs I have involving home renovations, etc., as there are many other locally-owned businesses that more than likely have what you need, and probably at a lower price, too. Home Depot in Jasper, do better. Hire some associates that actually care about the job that they are doing, not just there as a warm body to make a paycheck.

Today at the paint department, I was waited on by a young lady (sorry I didn’t think to look at her name tag). She was tall, wore glasses and had brown hair. This was the first person IN A LONG TIME in that department who went beyond functionary service. She was able to help me find the sample I couldn’t locate by the name and then preceded to tell me that sample paints could have a selected sheen. I have never been told this and I have asked ABOUT IT. Perhaps it is new service. This young lady was knowledgeable and is to be commended. I am always painting something and am in this department more than anywhere else. Thank you👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
