Yeah its basically the same. The break room in back is still the same with vending machines & a kareoke machine. Just one floor though. The beauty salon upstairs is gone.
Make sure you ask for a barber and tell the check in staff specifically, otherwise they may direct you to a full stylist.

You should definitely call ahead and make an appointment since what you want is a bit elaborate. Ask for Ross he is a great colorist
It is still hip and there are many different types of Stylists so the best thing to do is to go in to the front counter, tell them what type of cut you want for your son and they will recommend somebody to you.
