Do not deal with this auction house, especially if you're an international bidder. They sold me a broken item that wasn't as described on the auction page. Sent them an email, but they're ignoring me. Also, their shipping fee is insane. I'm going to do my best to warn future buyers about them. I'm also going to file a report to the ministry of trade so they can block them off coming in from customs.

Review for their shipping policy: Their shipping speed after an item is won at auction is abominable. 7-14+ days just for them to pack it up and drop it in the mail. And one needs to pay $20+ for this very sluggish mailing service. Otherwise, I am thrilled with my purchase and the price I paid for it. Update: After Heritage replied to me here I reached out to them. They are shipping my coin out overnight delivery. This is my first purchase with them. If I make another purchase through them in the future I will bare in mind their ordinary shipment timeframe is about two weeks after the item is paid.

I've dealt with Jason in the sports and collectibles area. So far so good waiting for response to some basketball cards that I have for sale.

Consigned a good amount of items with Heritage Auction and they couldn't have put in less effort to sell my items. I could've sold them for more on eBay and I would've gotten paid way quicker and it would've taken less time. Considering they take 20% hammer fee and then another 15% on top of that I'd say it's not worth selling through HA. Just sell it on your own or go elsewhere.

Are US gold coins worth more numismatically than they are worth just as their weight in gold?

Ed Samek | Sep 30, 2021
Heritage Auctions | Sep 30, 2021

Ed, Thank you for your question. Some gold coins will be worth much more because of higher grade condition, rarity of date and/or mint mark. A great many of them are worth little more than the value of their gold content. The Official Red Book would be a great tool to use to determine.
