I went to this location on August 15th for an oil change and tire rotation on my 2016 Subaru Impreza. Everything was serviced as per my request but I was told to keep my eye on certain issues like control arm and brake/rotor replacements. I then took it to a dealership to have it looked at to confirm that those specific parts would have to be replaced. After sitting in the dealership lobby for more than two hours I was told that my rear differential had gone out. the cause being that the tires that were rotated to the back were both different tread depths and had been moving at different speed wearing the diff out. upon taking this news to Pep Boys I talked with a manager and was told the issue on my rear differential had begun before coming in to get the oil change. Typically that would end this but he relayed to me information that the mechanics that had figured out that was the issue but neglected to tell me about that. The manager had also told me they rotated the tires knowing they were bad to the rear diff in an effort to prevent the front from wearing and "buying me more time." On the report I was given I was told none of this. The tire tread depth on the report was 7's across the board, and when I brought that up with this manager I was told that the report was seemingly by coincidence swapped by mistake with another "2016 Subaru" but did not mention the model. I have never had an issue like this before with Pep Boys, and like I said had the information that the rear differential was shot and needed to be replaced been told to me while I was in the shop this would go over differently. Sadly that is not the case now I have a 4,000 dollar bill and a Manager admitted that his Mechanics were aware of the issue and still opted to make a dangerous fix in an effort to "buy me more time" and gave me false information.

Chino is the ABSOLUTE BEST! Great service and he really goes out of his way to help you out and find the best deals/service for your vehicle! I've been to other pep boys and they were not as helpful! We will definitely be coming to this location as long as Chino is here!

What do you mean by "plug"? Are you asking if they fix flat tires, or repair slow leaks or something? What is going on with your tires? Keith Krebs, i think you mean sidewall, not sidewalk 😀
