I saw your ranch segment on Animal Rescue today and I am so glad you are able to rescue these horses. I had that our government just wants to kill them off. I would do the same as you are if I had the place and funds.

Do they take in horses from a situation where the owner has lost the ability to properly take care of them due to death of their spouse?

Some of the horses are used to people and will allow themselves to be touched. Others will not. Please check the website for a list of days open toi visitors. If you're thinking of coming for wild horse observation or photo safari in San Luis Obispo you do have the option of a private tour if four or more people sign up.
