Very, very crowded. Holiday weekend. Parking lot full and cars parked up and down the road as well. Not as crowded on the trail. Beautiful area!

the longest hike ever. to be honest we never looked up the trail prior we decided to take it on a whim because we were up the canyon and just pulled over at the first Trail head we saw that had parking. We ended up walking three hours up and we’re still two hours away from the lake. It’s an incline hike the entire time. There are no mile markers or any signs to let you know how far you’ve gone or how far you have left.

Yes, they have primitive camping there, throughout the trail.
Snowshoeing is popular here. You can rent great at a number of places, the REI in Millcreek is probably the most affordable, there are other rental shops closer to the canyon near I - 215 and 6200 South
According to my Smartphone app, it's very close to 11 Miles roundtrip
