Richie put me at ease immediately because he is a retired police officer. His knowledge of the law, and past experiences really helped me through the process. He was professional, kind, helpful, timely, and prompt when responding to any type of communication. I’m so glad that I Richie represented me. Things couldn’t have gone any smoother or quickly than they did. If 6 stars was an option that would be my choice.

The entire staff at Yaffa Law Group provided excellent service. Each person did their job and more. I was treated with respect and everything was explained clearly each step of the way. Thanks to Ms Yaffa and her staff for as good an experience as a divorce can be.

My situation was complex in that I was married in Quebec and was divorcing in Florida. Doreen's firm took all the necessary steps to provide a coherent understanding of the laws of both countries for the trial and how they would interact. Her team worked intensely to achieve this task.

In determining the amount of alimony, a court will look at whether the spouse requesting alimony has a need and then determine if the other spouse has the ability to satisfy, all or part, of that need. The award of alimony may not leave the paying party destitute or unable to support themselves.

You have invested years in your marriage and ensuring that you are getting what you are entitled to as a matter of law and assuring that the terms of a settlement are inclusive of things you likely will not think about is key. It is money well spent to avoid costly mistakes, such as sloppy agreements, in the long run. The expense of a lawyer is directly in line with how complicated the issues of the marital estate, but even more telling as to the cost is how cooperative the parties are. Cooperation between the parties is the best way to keep costs down.

If you have an uncontested matter, no children, and nothing to split up or divide and there is no alimony being paid, then I would say you dont need a lawyer. You can simply download the Simplified Divorce Form from the Florida Supreme Court, fill it out and follow the instructions. You will have to pay a filing fee but it is fairly easy to get through the process.

A home is typically one of the largest marital assets co-owned by both spouses and you will need to decide what to do with it. In most divorce situations, you will typically have three options in dealing with the house First Sell the House and Divide the Proceeds, Second One Spouse Buys out the Other Spouse Who Keeps the House OR Continue to Co-Own the House Until a Decision Can Be Made Later
