I’m an Army Veteran diagnosed with PTSD. This past year, after years of going to the VA I felt like my mental health was in the worst state it had ever been and had started to have suicidal thoughts. I take my son to Dr. Kye and knew he could help me. I decided to make and appointment and after the first appointment with changes to my meds I had been on for 5 years I started to feel so much better. It only took 3 appointments to get my med profile where it should be and that was it. I feel 100% better with no more feelings of wanting to end my life. Dr. Kye is insanely smart and truly wants you to get better. I literally owe my life to him.

Dr K. Is brilliant beyond belief but I found his bedside manor lacking. For example, I told him I had previously tried ketamine therapy, but found it ineffective. I tried to tell him that the dose the provider I saw administered to me was 1.6 mg/kg over 40 minutes, but he cut me off mid sentence saying “I don’t care what dose it is, I just asked if it was effective” Well, the American psychiatric association would say that that dose is contraindicated. There are studies showing that 1mg/Kg/hour is the maximum recommended dose, and 2mg/kg/hour is contraindicated for depression. I would think someone as obsessed with research as him may be interested in that. He also recommended something very unorthodox which is haldaperol .5mg for panic attacks and acute anxiety. That is a powerful antipsychotic. He cited a study showing how it effects the brain, and that other patients he’s had have had success. When I tried to say that it wasn’t fda approved for panic attacks and had not been through clinical trials, he dismissed these concerns. In summary, he has 10/10 intellect and 2/10 social skills.

This psychiatrist was great in finding the right medications for a 25-year-old male suffering from ASD. It took four months but there was a 100% turnaround with the right medicine. His mom is forever grateful.

He does not accept insurance. You will have to submit to Aetna yourself as out of network. We went to several in -network Doctor's and Nurse practictioners. Some just wanted to know what drugs we wanted and nothing about progress IR condition. Some could not remember the name of the patient or history. Some just wanted to follow what the last drug rep dropped off. You will get far better care with Dr. Kye.
It would be best to call the office to determine a price directly. They do not take insurance but I found the quality of care to be worth it and this is not the most expensive psychiatrist in town. I would strongly recommend Dr. Kye to anyone I know.
