Heartbroken that this lovely inn has closed! Hoping the new owners can keep the magic going through VRBO or Airbnb. We have had so many lovely memories of our stays there over the years. The original owners, Money & Karen were such gracious hosts. They built the property and made the magic. I guess it is only fitting that is has been turned back in to a residence!

Run of the River is my personal favorite place to stay in the whole state. The fact that we keep coming back for over 10 years should tell you something. Sometimes we come 4-5 times a year, and it is always wonderful. It is spectacular during every season, but winter is my personal favorite. Run of the River is situated on a refuge on an arm of the Wenatchee River with the beautiful mountains in the back drop. This means you have this gorgeous, natural view right from your balcony/deck in your room. Sometimes you are lucky enough to see bears (summer) and other wildlife. It's a great spot for bird watchers. The decks have nice hanging chairs to relax in when its warm enough outside. I have stayed in every room at the inn, and the upstairs rooms are my favorites because you have the best view right up the creek. All the rooms are great and unique though. The rooms themselves are tastefully decorated in a cabin theme and the decorations change throughout the seasons. They all have a comfortable king bed in beautiful hand carved wooden bed frame. Each room has a jacuzzi for a relaxing soak and nice rain shower. All the rooms also have a gas fireplace with comfy leather chairs or couches to relax in nearby. Just image yourself with a cup of tea and a warm blanket sitting in the cozy chair watching the snow fall and birds flutter by. Wish I was there now. Each room also has a personal deck with the view mentioned above. I love the outdoors, but whenever I come here I don't want to leave. The rooms have always been quiet and relaxing for my husband and I. This place is truly an oasis. Our last stay over New Years was just perfect. One of my favorite things about Run of the River is the attention to detail like the little treats left in your room upon arrival and the splendid decorations. Jan and Steve are the wonderful innkeepers. If you spend a couple minutes chatting with them, you will realize they are wonderful people that go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. They give great recommendations, so don't hesitate to ask. If you have any issues, they will do their best to help you out if you just talk to them. They also work hard to keep you safe with COVID precautions including a contactless check-in and check-out. They also now deliver the delicious and ample breakfast to your room to help keep you safe. Pre-COVID they had family style breakfasts downstairs with all the guests, and you really got to spend time getting to know them and the folks staying there. This is obviously on hold because of COVID, but maybe one day this will all return. While my favorite thing about Run of the River is the relaxing environment, it is also a great place to use as jumping off point for activities whether you are x-country skiing in the winter, visiting the reindeer farm, or hiking in the summer. It is a short drive or about a beautiful 20 min walk to town, depending on how leisurely your stroll is, which also has a ton to offer. I actually love that it is not right in town because it makes it more peaceful. Animal lovers will love hanging out with their super friendly and well trained Bernese Mountain Dog, Nelly. I can't wait to go back. Really anytime for any amount of time is perfect for a visit, but I usually like to stay for three nights. Don't hesitate to visit. This is the perfect refuge for a weary soul.

Overall a wonderful experience. My husband and I are workaholics and had originally planned this trip before Covid hit, but it was postponed. Needless to say this was a welcome reprieve. The room was great, very welcoming and relaxing, and the porch with view was so nice in the mornings. The inn keepers also are great at predicting needs for you and keeping it available in your room. As for the breakfast, I thought it was amazing. It definitely was homemade and exceeded my expectations. Also, it was different and delicious every morning. We only spent two nights here, but it was a valuable and memorable experience. Highly recommended 👍🏼

A very good experience; beautiful, comfortable accommodations. Hosts were very friendly and breakfast was nicely prepared with special touches. Convenient to down town area but remotely quiet. Overall A+

Do you participate in the free bed and breakfast for veterans on veterans day?

I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to ask... No matter what day it is you participate in the breakfast because it's simply amazing and you'd only be cheating yourself if you skipped it. I'm not sure what they do on Veterans Day specifically, or if they do anything at all, but I do know they offer a discount for Veterans year round.
