With the advent of casino gambling in Nebraska the important think to know is this is now War Horse Casino and a temporary one until the permanent casino and hotel are built. This means horse racing simulcast fans are most certainly second class citizens. While the simulcast TVs are still there the space dedicated for wagering and planning your bets is minimal. Right now there are only slot machines and they fill almost the entire space. Table games will not happen until the permanent casino is built. The staff was fantastic. Very friendly and helpful which is extra important right now as they are going through so many changes. The food menu has been slimmed down to account for the temporary status. The system for ordering, fast food style, is inefficient but they’re trying hard to make it work. My Philly cheese steak was good while my friends chicken sandwich wasn’t “so-so.” I was there on only their 4th day open as a casino on a Tuesday afternoon. It wasn’t slow but it wasn’t super busy either. There were plenty of open slots for people to choose from. I visit here fairly regularly and will, when appropriate, update this review as they iron out the bugs and build the permanent casino and hotel. I expect when they are done this will be a first rate establishment.

It was odd when I went in the door they wanted ID. I gave them my driver's license. Apparently they made a copy of it. I have been to casinos in Iowa, Las Vegas and Atlantic City. They did not ask to see my ID. There were a lot of slot machines crammed into a limited space. A lady did ask if I wanted something to drink. It looked like there was a food menu. There was a lot of cars in the parking lot. It seem there was not that many people inside. I did win some. Perhaps more than usual. I put it all back. It is a long drive from where I live north of town. Perhaps I will come back again when the permanent building is done.
