I am also a Speech Pathologist and I worked with Rachel in the public school setting. She is a very hardworking, knowledgeable, engaging, and fun therapist! I valued her opinion and expertise when I had questions or wanted to discuss a student's individual needs and how they could best be served. Highly recommend!

I worked with Rachel Price in the Public Schools as a Speech and Language Pathologist. I was amazed by her creativity while working with her students. She is innovative and keeps up with the latest technologies in the area of Speech and Language. I would highly recommend Rachel Price and Priceless Speech Therapy.

I have known Rachel as a classroom teacher. She was the Speech Language Pathologist in my room for seven years. Rachel worked with children from all backgrounds with a variety of exceptionalities and developmental levels. She did a great job of adapting to individual student needs and providing meaningful feedback to families. Rachel was a prompt and thorough therapist and I greatly enjoyed having her on my team. I would highly recommend her as a therapist for any child in need of speech language services.

I highly recommend Rachel Price. Rachel worked with my daughter for about 2 years, ages 3-5 years old. My daughter was mostly non-verbal until about 18 months. She had lip and tongue ties, along with a diagnosed speech delay. When Rachel started to work with her she was able to quickly and respectfully gain my daughters trust, and soon was able to work with her independently. She had a genuine rapport with my girl, who often struggled opening up to new people. It didn't take long to start to see improvement, both in her clarity, and range of words and sounds, but in her confidence. She loved going to her speech sessions with Rachel. And it was bittersweet when she graduated. Rachel was wonderful to work with. I admired her clear passion for what she does, but also her patience, kindness and clarity in her interactions with both parent and child.

Questions & Answers

How long will my child need speech therapy services?

A child's speech and language skill development are affected by multiple factors including the severity of the speech and language disorder, the child's willingness to participate in session activities, frequency of sessions, and home practice of the targeted skills. In general, you can expect that your child will need to receive speech-language therapy services 1-2 times per week for up to 6 months. After this period of time, many children have achieved their targeted goals and are able to be dismissed. Other children may need a longer period of therapy to meet their goals. The therapist will provide recommendations for the frequency and duration of speech and language therapy services following the child's initial evaluation

What are the differences between home based versus clinic based therapy?

Speech Therapy services that are provided in the home allow the child to participate in sessions in the environment that they are most comfortable being in. This allows the child to feel at ease, and to be able to focus on learning new skills. The Speech Language Pathologist and the parents are able to collaborate more and the parents can often be part of the session. Generalization of new skills is easier for the child because these skills are being practiced in the natural environement. Home-based services allow for more flexible scheduling, and negate the need for parents to drive to and from the the therapy clinic.

I'm not sure if my child needs speech and language services. How do I find out?

Contact me anytime. We will discuss your concerns, observations, and questions. Typically the first steps include a conversation with you followed by a screening and/or evaluation to determine whether or not speech-language therapy is needed.
