Only 1 star because of follow up care after this hip replacement surgery on 25-May, 2022. Have been back 5 times for complaints of swelling( normal) but pain in lower back, leg pain and prosthesis pain. Still on pain meds, and pain so bad it’s close to going to hospital pain. When I have been seen, it’s MRI of lower back and now Mars MRI to determine left hip failure, and waiting so long to get back in for next step. No call backs from PA or NP!!! I just want an answer without waiting or simply seeing Dr Sands for his opinion. Follow up has been dreadful. All I am asking is for is NOT to be put off, it’s been 10-11 weeks, with so much pain! I’m beyond not being able to have any quality of life. I wonder if Dr Sands evens knows what is going on. When I cry every night from pain, I really wonder who cares. Just help, please and don’t keep making me wait and wait for next step!! This is 2nd hip replacement and 1st one was a breeze, and 1st one would be 5 star. BUT when in so much pain and misery, why do I get put on back burner??? I’m at my wits end!! My faith in a good Dr.is diminishing :( Adding to my post from 3 weeks ago…asking for help and review of my case and it’s simply amazing to me that patients that have difficulties get no response, and there are several!!! Does anyone even read and try to help with issues that MAY need more attention??? Are all the thank you’s are just auto generated??? With no concern of trying to solve issues? I would be amazed if the patient’s that have been “not” perfect reviews to be addressed…. It appears it’s not real patient care, not every surgery can be perfect, we are all human and some things do go wrong! So why is is no one will respond or try to resolve??? Where is the compassion, research to resolve the problem’s ??? Where’s my answer?? Or who contacts the patients with problems??? I have more than begged to be contacted to help get better. 15 weeks after hip replacement…and still on opioids, red flag anyone??? NOPE. Website for praise only!!! I still believe in Dr Sands but the follow up and resolution really fails…too sad and bad.

So far it was a good experience to meet Dr Sands. And he took his time to explain to me everything that I need to know.

Dr. Sands is an absolute joke of a surgeon. He attempted a simple plica resection on my right knee in April of 2019. His lack of skill and performance caused my kneed to have additional pain, locking, and a meniscal tear which required a second surgery 12 months later. Additionally, his improper procedure caused an additional chronic pain in the form of a backer cist. Now, in 2022, I have to go back for a 3rd surgery for continued pain and complications from his malpractice.

Dr. Sands and Joe are the best. I had 3 torn meniscus prior to my surgery. My knee was a mess. I had the surgery, and I feel great. I have no pain or stiffness. He is the best, people trave froml all over America just to have Dr. Sands preform knee surgery.
