Dr. Jordan was rude and condescending today when discussing treatment of my dog. She actually prescribed a medication that he has previously not had a response to so I paid extra money for unnecessary treatment. She never gave me time to speak, refused to speak to me in person when I was present at the office, and talked ill of her employees that were just trying to help me leave in a timely fashion as Dr. Jordan was trying to keep my dog far past their closing time. This is extremely disappointing as I pay a monthly cost for a treatment plan to this facility and expected at least civil treatment.

Dr. Jordan was great with my 2 senior babies. She explained the lab test in a way that I understood what were the issues with my dogs. She researched ways to help my dogs and save me money at the same time. She also sent me several texts during the day about my dogs, because she knew I couldn’t talk on the phone. Several years ago Dr. Jordan told me how to make my dogs less anxious about being dropped off at the vet. I really appreciate the extra time she gives to them and all her pet clients. The VT Emaly Babbitt was very good at telling me what would happen while my dogs were at the vet. She also told me she would be keeping a close eye on them to make sure they were doing ok.

As someone who has brought their kitten to this Banfield location multiple times within the past eight months, I have truly never been so disgusted by an animal hospital's customer service and its staff's veterinary abilities, or lack thereof. Besides the inconveniences of taking my kitten to the vet for unneeded appointments, we have spent $5,627.51 since January 18th, 2022 for a kitten that has no illnesses, no behavioral issues, and no need for the majority of the "preventive" tests Banfield runs to clear her for things that were never a possibility from the start. Aside from the fact that each vet appointment takes at least three hours, the vets themselves seem to lack knowledge and expertise when handling animals. When my Himalayan kitten went in for her five-month check-up, we were told that she potentially had feline leukemia despite never stepping foot outside nor being birthed by a cat who was infected either. My kitten had just come in contact with my brother's two cats the week before, and the vet essentially put my family into emotional distress by stating that it was too late to help the other cats since they would've "already been infected" by that point. After requesting to see the FeLV test for ourselves, it was apparent that the vet misunderstood the control dot for a positive reading and ordered a series of other lab tests to confirm the "positive" result. Additionally, my cat fractured a small bone in her tail about two weeks ago, so we took her to another vet at this Banfield to examine her. Since August 22nd, they've continued to charge us for unnecessary tests and sedation, which each cost $150 x 3 since she was apparently "too difficult to work with while being awake." However, we took her to a different vet today and were present for her quick examination where she displayed no signs of aggression or frustration. Our kitten would also constantly leave the Banfield office shaking and scared for hours until she slept off her anxiety-inducing experiences. This led us to believe that the Banfield staff members were either mistreating her or simply stating that she needed sedation in order to charge us even more when we went to pick up our kitten. They also told us that they would need to perform an amputation of her tail despite her having mobility and blood flow in it. Since that shocking vet visit, our kitten has seen two other veterinarians who stated otherwise and told us that she simply needed to rest and take time to heal for herself before making any irrational decisions related to surgery. Our kitten's repetitive trips to the Banfield vets just for her tail cost us $1,634.76 alone to be given exaggerated diagnoses and false corrective measures. The front desk staff also has zero background/experience with anything related to animals and are some of the most difficult people I have ever communicated with. Beyond being unable to answer any questions related to my pet, they have also been extremely stubborn each time I've requested to speak with the vet in person rather than on the phone. I was told that the vets were busy "dealing with other patients" and that my family members who spoke with the vets on the phone were "competent enough to understand" what was done/what to expect from my kitten post-visit. My family and I are still in shock as a result of these fear-mongering trips to Banfield and will no longer return to this animal hospital that only values making as much money as possible by the time they close. We have already reached out to our lawyer and are seeking further legal action against the office for misdiagnosing our pet on multiple occasions, overcharging us and causing the entire family and my pet some of the most horrific experiences we have ever endured.

Dr. Jordan took care of our animals for years, and we were so happy to discover she was back in Raleigh. She recently helped us through putting our sixteen year old dog to sleep - she had taken care of him since he was a puppy, and she made a sad experience so much easier than it could have been. Love Dr. Jordan and don't trust anyone more to take care of our animals!

Banfield Pet Hospital | Sep 30, 2020

Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
