OARS really has their act together and it's apparent that they are a professional organization. We did a full day raft trip, The Gorge, over Labor Day weekend and it was as good as it could have been, especially with our guide, RC (thanks for the warning about the shallows and the rocks, RC!). We camped two nights at their campground, which isn't ON the river, but just a short walk away. The campground is cool in that there is a good level of privacy from one site to the next. Also, they have flush toilets in a clean restroom, warm showers, a camp store on site (with ice!) and friendly staff. Oh, and wifi too, closer to the camp store and outdoor kitchen (and strong 5G signal from ATT). If you're new to rafting, this is the place to go; they'll take care of you.

Just got off the American River Outpost day trip and I can not praise the OARS crew highly enough! Everyone was so friendly and the rapids were a blast! The lunch was awesome and the float itself was beautiful and exciting! Can’t wait to get out there again! I’d recommend wearing gloves for the paddling and don’t forget to tip your guides! They work so hard and put in so much energy to ensure that your day out with OARS is something you’ll be anxious to do again!👍

Yes, they will teach you rafting basics on the first day. You do not need to have any prior rafting experience.
I don't think so. Unless your dog handles some ruff spots. Don't know what class it is
