Had a surgery scheduled for out patient hip replacement, for about a month and a half. Gave blood for pre-screening (twice) and got clearance through my cardiologist. At 3pm the day before the surgery, called to ask about a time to arrive the next morning. Was told the anesthesiologist may not allow the surgery, because of my sleep apnea, and asthema conditions. At 7pm @Deb Langhals contacted me to affirm that it was cancelled. Talked with my cardiologist the next day. The reaffirmed they had no isuues with surgery. Talked with the anesthesiologist (finally) and he admitted that he and director were the ones to postpone surgery and wanted it to be in the hospital. (Of course, more money). Reason was because they have no equipment to handle a pulmonary issue if it occurred. Even said I more than likely would have been fine, but did not want to take the chance. That is all fine, but to wait until the eve of the surgery to make such a decision is very unprofessional. Loved ones and friends planned their work schedules around this surgery. All lost the afternoon before. @Dr. Michael Canone at Ortho Nuero New Albany should associate himself with a better facility. He and his team were great, along with @Deb Langhals. I asked Ortho Nuero for a refund. I'll get my hip replaced somewhere a little more professional than this MASH unit.

Would you like to be discharged in the dead of night, in the cold, 24 hours after knee replacement surgery? This is what they did to my 65-year-old mother. When her medical transport didn't show up to take her to the rehabilitation nursing home, it was someone's bright idea to cram her into an Uber. I would expect a surgery center to show some kindness, care, understanding and a capacity to THINK at least about contacting the transportation company. I guess the expectation to treat people with dignity and respect is too far fetched! Find a different place if you want to be treated like a person and not a money dispenser.

I haven’t even had my surgery there yet but the billing people are very rude. I asked a question and the billing person wasn’t listening. I had to ask same question several time before she answered.

Everyone that I came in contract with was very nice, helpful, and very understanding. I was scared about my procedure. I HATE needles. They talked to me and eased my nerves. It was a near painless procedure and was over before I knew it 😃 I would recommend Dr. D. Pap to anyone with my type of back pain.

Check with the company your surgeon works for. You can also check with your primary care physician, they usually get copies of your procedures.
Yes it does. Above average food too!
