Friendly Guy
Surprisingly short wait to speak to a representative on the phone. Both times I called the reps were helpful by either answering my questions or directing me to where I could get the info that I needed. I recently scheduled a phone appointment with them and they called me…as promised…at the exact time they said they would.

Called for a week straight and left messages. No one answers after being on hold for upto 45 minutes before getting hung up on. Called for Ms. Gerarve like the letter I received said to do. Left messages for her after using her extension. No returned calls. I called the office to try to speak with someone and no one answers and then 20 to 45 minutes later I get hung up on.

They are the worst , what kind of place stays closed 2 years that’s lazy and I will be doing everything in my power to get them in trouble they cut me off of my ssi because of a mistake they made , by sending my mail to my payee with my old payee name on it and I have been struggling in life every since . God sit high and look low

My case worker miscalculated information and disregarded vital information regarding my recertification. The documents that I mailed and hand delivered to the office were "conveniently" misplaced or unavailable. This has caused a major hardship for my special needs child and our family.

Not to sure, ya know already that we are messing with the federal government, there's an old saying that veterans know, it's called hurry up and wait, when they want something, it's hurry up, but when you need something, it's wait
Once you reach 62, it automatically reverts to regular SS. It may be different now, mine did a few years ago. Best to check with your local SS office.
No, you don't but be prepare to wait in line.
I never could get through. I went to the office yesterday. Only three people working. Each person only handles certain issues. Make sure you have a mask.
I think you tried to ask, "Can I file taxes and claim my children if I am self employed and on social security". If that is correct, the answer is yes. You can file taxes and claim whomever you like, as long as you can show, through the usual documentation, that you are the primary caregiver and/or provide for the majority of expenses, as long as no one else is claiming them and they are not claiming themselves. You will most likely want to check with the IRS and/or a tax professional, or at the very least, tax software.
Call the social security office and make an appointment
Call the social security 800 number

You can get online and get a copy sent to you .. ssi.gov

the SSA has a return to work program that allows you to retain your benefits for a specified time period. If you able to return to work and remain employed for the time period set they stop payments. If you unable to remain employed then you will get your benefits as usual
