Didn't have time to actually go in but it was still beautiful to see. You have to visit at least once.

You know how the interiors of a real warship of the ll ww are. Although the tour was not complete because it is still under restoration.

A good friend from Jackson Mississippi, who is a teacher and was on Soring break, wanted to visit this museum with her 7 yr old. We check the website four times ( even checked the Day Before) and made plans for a day of hanging out , activities. THEY SHUT DOWN TO FILM A MOVIE..BUT DIDNT LET ANYONE KNOW..So Friend had 30 minutes to run through..and they wanted to charge her FULL PRICES HORRIBLE CUSTOMER/ PUBLIC SERVICE IMHO

I bought my tickets off groupon so they were cheaper.
They have in the past had overnight trips for Boy Scout troops. There has been a change in leadership at the Museum, however, so it would be best to contact them directly to see if they continue to do so.
Dorothy, what was your dad's name and in what time period did he serve? There have been three (3) ships to bear the name USS KIDD: our ship (DD-661) which served in WWII, the Korean War, and the Cold War; the second KIDD (DDG-993) which served at the end of the Cold War and during the Persian Gulf War; and the third KIDD (DDG-100) currently serving in the active fleet.

There is nothing to purchase on the ship itself, although sodas and other items can be purchased in the museum store. However, we ask that no sodas or sugary drinks be opened on the ship.
They got a parking lot at the end of Florida Blvd and u can walk otherwise there is street parking with meters
There is a wheelchair ramp from the main building that will lead do the main deck of the ship. There are narrow stairs that lead to other decks, so wheelchairs wouldn't be able to see other decks.
Yes, there is another USS Kid by the classification DDG-93, however that one was built in 1978 and is currently in service for the Chinese Navy as of now. Fun fact, thus far there have been 3 USS Kidds, DD-661, DDG-993 and DDG-100.
