Found this spot on Grubhub, saw all the positive reviews, and decided to go to the location with the family while visiting NOLA. We went in to order. We were greeted by the friendly cashier at the window, ordered the Dat Red Bean plate and the Bourbon Street Love with two Dat Shyt’s to drink. No inside dining but plenty of table to eat outside. We saw a lot of people park to pick up to go orders. We waited around 10-15 for our food and the cashier brought us our food and drinks. Y’all did not have to make that food that dayum good. Everything was flavorful, hot, and fresh. The drink was like a house punch and delicious. Chicken was seasoned perfectly. The Crawdat sauce with the Mac and cheese was a flavor combination I didn’t know I needed in my life. We try to dine at new places everytime we visit, but this place will be on the list to eat each time we come to NOLA.

You call this shrimp and grit, I was very disappointed ☹️

Herd Dat Kitchen tastes like grandma cooking in a professional restaurant! Everything is great or better. The red beans and rice are wonderfully balanced between spicy and salty. The fried chicken is juicy inside and crunchy outside. The cornbread sweetness offsets everything so well. Be prepared to sit on a wooden bench on the street. There's no interior seating. Street parking is available everywhere.

The hype is real. This food was amazing. If you visit New Orleans, please stop by. I got the fried chicken on Mac n cheese and it was so good! Good portions as well.
