The power constantly goes out when the weather is clear. They once threatened to shut off my power on a Friday afternoon. It was December and freezing. I was on the LIHEAP program for utility assistance. My husband was on chemo. and I also have a disabled child. That didn't matter. Finally, the service tech., sent to cut us off, called her church where the pastor donated the money. That's the only reason that we didn't freeze to death that weekend. This is not only unethical it's illegal.

Coast Electric came out in November 2020 to cut down pine trees that were too close to lines. They cut down trees but left the mess. They were supposed to take the stumps and big limbs but they are still in ditch and yard. Called several times and was told they had the ticket to do job. I asked about when since it is now JULY 2021 and still not picked up. The area is becoming overgrown and unsightly, as we pride ourselves on keeping our yard and ditches clean. Also the mess is near our driveway.

You go to coast electric and tell them about the trees and they will send out the company they use for keeping the power lines clear of trees.

if you do prepaid, only $90, but you get to use it, you have to keep a minimum balance of $25, and theres no reconnect fee. You can pay online or with cash, after hours, at the kiosk outside the main office
