Staff seem a little confused about the schedule on July 4th but they tried to help.

The ferry is the perfect easy and inexpensive ride to see the river from both sides. Never have to wait long for the 'next' boat to arrive. Visiting Algiers Point via the ferry is a perfect way get the feel of the old city neighborhoods in New Orleans with their colorful paint and yard art etc. [safely]. You can also do the short walk or bike to the best food in New Orleans.... Cafe´ "Tout de Suite". Best creole/ Cajun food around. Really ! You'll always remember this part of the trip to New Orleans.
