It has been years since I've been to Steak and Shake but I will be going again. The employees were all friendly the prices were more than reasonable. The shakes were excellent! If I was you I would give it a try it's very family friendly.

This place has changed alot since COVID happened two years ago. The last time I went here, Steak and Shake was a sit down restaurant where you were seated and a waiter or waitress took your order, but you paid at the counter when you left. Nowadays, ordering is completely automated via a variety of touch screens located near the entrance. One complaint I had is that they took away most of the menu and only offer burgers and a handful of other items. I paid $7 for my meal which included a bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a drink. You get your own cup and drink at a self serve beverage station and you wait for your order number to be called when it's ready. I like the self serve drink bar because you can have something to drink while you wait. I got my food within 10 to 15 minutes of ordering. The burger and fries were nothing spectacular, but I got what I paid for when it was $7, the main reason I came here was because my car was being worked on at Motor City next door and I needed to kill an hour. While the food is nothing to write home about, it's decent if you're like me and you need something to do while your car is getting worked on at Motor City next door.

Clean the soda machine as needed. I see green algae all over the ice despiser and still getting worse. I’ve been coming here for over a year. While about 6 months ago my coworkers and I have been watching it just keep getting worse at by the week, month, almost a year. Get with the program.

I had a double cheeseburger and it was delicious. The meat tasted fresh. But it wasn’t at all how I ordered it. I wanted no bun, no onion but with a pickle. I got it plain no pickle with a bun. So as long as you don’t have any allergies and don’t care how it comes, then it’s fine. Otherwise, go elsewhere:
