We boarded our 1 yr old puppy here for the weekend and picked him up this morning. When we left him on Friday he was his happy go lucky, energetic self but when we got we got him home his was unusually mello and limping on his left front leg. Within an hour of having him home he started favoring his left leg and kept laying down as not to use it. I called Barnstable Animal Hospital to see if he got hurt possible playing with other dogs or it anyone had noticed any issues. I was told that no one noted anything on his chart so unfortunately not sure what they can do. I have NEVER picked up any of my pets from boarding injured or in worse shape than when I dropped them off! So needless to say I called my vet and got him in only to find out he has a major inflection on his paws, it’s worse on the left. So after an emergency visit, medications and a $345 vet bill, he is now resting somewhat comfortably. On top of the $185 that I spent at the animal hospital to board him this weekend, oh and he was also bathed and nails clipped too. How was this not noticed when washing him and clipping his nails? The lack of concern when I called to find out what happened and the lack of responsibility when I asked what recourse I had should there be an issue or expenses due to the was disgraceful!!!

They wanted a fee just to set up an appointment! This seems like a HUGE red flag! Vets are expensive enough as is, I’ll be taking my dog somewhere else!

Good job and good people

Yes, they do, and distemper, as well as anything else your furry friend may need
Not sure. Give them a call.
The vets do administer vaccinations, and spay/neuter your pets. I believe you have to register your dog in your town yourself, however.
