We were excited to go to Fort Sumter and to see this historical sight and then the excitement ended with such DISSATISFACTION AND DISAPPOINMENT. And it was not at the half hour boat ride to and from the fort, oh no no no. IT WAS THE HALF HOUR TO GET OFF THE BOAT JUST TO GET FEET ON FORT SUMTER. THEN THEY ONLY GIVE YOU 45 MINS TO LOOK AROUND. THEY SAY AN HOUR ON SHORE AT THE FORT BUT IF YOU DONT WANT TO SIT BELOW AND THEN WAIT ANOTHER HALF HOUR TO GET OFF THE BOAT WHEN YOU GET BACK TO MAIN LAND YOU REALLY ONLY HAVE A HALF HOUR TO 45 MINUTES. SO YEAH THE PRICE THATS PAID TO DO THIS TOUR IS A JOKE AND NOT WORTH IT HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. only reason it gets two stars is that we are still alive and the boat did not sink with all the vibration going on.

We went in the morning and my wife helped raise the flag. Great history about the fort and and Charleston. Guided by U S Park Service

Yes it's not the biggest boat so expect rocking. Some in my group got a little sea sick. Nothing bad but if you get sick easy plan accordingly.
Tours: adults $22, seniors/military $20, children $14, children under 3 FREE.
It depends which tour you take, it was $28 each when we went. I just looked on line and it is $32 each now. There are a bunch of different tours listed. But you have to take a commercial boat tour to see Ft Sumter.
They have them a few times a day. Checking the website would be best bet for the most up to date schedule
Yes
There are not a lot of steps from the boat to the entrance. Once inside there steps, at least 20 to go to the top and/or the bathroom, museum or get water. You can walk around the fort without going up though but you are limited.
Yes. There is a $2.00 discount to members of the military...$22 versus $24. Be sure to go early for the flag ceremony...totally worth it!
There is a garage there I was there about 5 hrs was 10 bucks
March through August Boats leave Liberty Square at 9:30 am, 12pm, 2:30pm, and 4pm. Patriot's Point boats leave at 10:30am, 1pm, and 3:30pm. Reservations are strongly recommended, and you should consult their website because times change according to season. www.fortsumtertours.com
You can take small coolers like the lunch box kind
You Stay at least 1 hour unless you buy the extended pass.
