I moved into Willow Pond two years ago from another apartment complex. I have been very happy with my new home. Compared to the old complex, Willow Pond is wonderful. Our manager is very professional and treats everyone with the same respect and courtesy. The complex has a variety of amenities for the residents to enjoy. Our manager and maintenance take pride in the property and I am very blessed to be living at Willow Pond Apartments.

I grew up in Mocksville and lived here for a number of years. I was living in Lexington, NC when I saw there were some new apartments being built in Mocksville. After visiting them, I knew that I needed to be at Willow Pond and have really enjoyed living there. I was the first person to move in 6 years ago. I love living here because it is so safe and quiet. Also, everyone that knows me knows how much I enjoy the walking trail. I am on the trail every morning rain or shine and it so great because it is so close by. I really like it at Willow Pond because everything is clean and maintained due to Jerry the maintenance man. Our property manager, Martha also works hard to make sure everyone is taken care of fairly and she really tries to make our time here fun and pleasant. I really appreciate the pride Martha and Jerry take in Willow Pond. Shirley

When I was living in another town, I saw in the local paper where some Senior apartments were being built in Mocksville, NC. I moved in when the apartments were completed 6 years ago. I enjoy living here for a number of reasons. I feel so safe and this is huge for me. Also, everything is very convenient. There are multiple stores close by. Walgreens is just a few steps away. We are really at the corner of happy and healthy. We also have walking trails to enjoy and the grounds are beautiful. I really enjoy walking in the halls, especially in cold weather. The property manager, Martha is always working really hard to make the time we live here nice and enjoyable. Our maintenance man, Jerry keeps things going and really neat. Thanks Martha and Jerry for all you do. Angie

This is a beautiful property and would be a perfect place to live, but the property management treats the residents like children. We are not allowed to use any of the amenities such the computer rooms, exercise room, or any of the 3 activity rooms. There are no planned activities here, you basically have to stay in your apartment. And Covid19 has nothing to do with this treatment, it started way before the virus ever got here. The rules are continuously changing, and what you sign on your lease changes with the managers moods. When I met with the property manager to sign my lease 2 years ago, I thought I was moving to a wonderful place, just to find out very soon it was all a lie. I, like many of the other residents, moved here from another state, and there is no going back. Because the rent here is affordable, I have to stay here because there is nowhere else nearby that I can afford. We need a manager here that is truly a property manager, and not a resident manager. If you want to feel like living in an institution, where every move you make is managed, then this is the place for you. And if you want to be watched and spied on 24/7 by the resident spies who report our every move to the manager when she is not here, then this is the place for you. There are other properties managed by Excell that are like this one in other parts of North Carolina, but have a totally different experience. It is beautiful grounds here to enjoy, if you could, but there are no grills or picnic tables, and the outside seating is allowed at the managers discretion. Right now they are taped up so when we walk outside, we have no where to stop and rest, and as seniors, we do need to stop and rest for health reasons. We were told they taped them up because of Covid 19, but that is no reason to stop 1 person at a time from sitting on them, once again treating us like children. So, if you are considering moving into Willow Pond, these are a few of the things you might want to think about before you make your final decision. And as for help from the "upper management", there is none; your complaints are returned with the answer of," we leave these matters up to the property manager", so you have no where to get help. And another thing to consider, this property is supposed to be for adults who can live unassisted...it is not. There are several people living here who have to have daily assistance and cannot be left on their own, which again is another lie. So if we get a real property manager who manages the property instead of the residents, I will give you another report. Until then, happy apartment hunting.
