I spoke on the phone today with Darlene and wanted to leave a review since I see a lot of negative reviews on here. She was very nice, knowledgable, and very helpful. Thank you, Darlene!

I just got off a call with the rudest SC State employee on the phone for medicaid. I hung up on her. She over talked me, she made assumptions (goes w/over talking someone) and she got very defensive due to her lack of ability to listen, instead her imagination ran off with her unmindful-self as well as her prejudices toward me. Sad.

Apparently your employees are trained to be unprofessional and hang up on people, I could understand if I had been ugly to someone but I was not and treated as less than a person. Thank you Cynthia for showing a lack of compassion and not an ounce of professionalism.

30 to 45 business days for them to process your application if you apply online. You might be able to get your application processed faster if you go before 3 pm and ask to speak with an eligibility worker.
No, this agency deals with health insurance
Thank you for contacting the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, we are the state agency that administers the Healthy Connections Medicaid program. For questions about Medicaid, you can contact our member contact center at (888) 549-0820. For other public health questions, please contact the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.
Metered street parking is available directly in front of this facility.
Can you please clarify if you are a member who is asking about renewing coverage or a provider asking about re-certifying as an enrolled health care provider?
Thank you for your question, licensure is maintained by the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation. More information about how to enroll as Medicaid provider can be founded on our provider enrollment page here: https://scdhhs.gov/provider
Thank you for your question, the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is the state’s Medicaid agency. It is not a law enforcement organization.
Thank you for your question. Most SCDHHS county offices are to the public. You can also get help and submit forms without visiting a county office. A list of offices that are open to the public and other ways to contact SCDHHS is available here: https://www.scdhhs.gov/site-page/where-go-help
