I was a patient in the Terrace of Jacksonville due to hip surgery from December 8th, 2021 through December 24th, 2021. Upon arrival to my room, both my wife and I felt disappointed and disturbed at the condition it was in. It had a smell in it and looked like it hadn't been cleaned properly after the last patient was discharged. There was small pieces of paper, a flossing pick, dust and dirt that remained on the floor almost the full 17 days I was there. The meals that were served left a lot to be desired. Breakfast was usually scrambled eggs or oatmeal and served cold or at room temperature. Lunch was usually a casserole of some kind served barely warm and was usually a hit or miss. Dinner in the evening was always some kind of unappetizing sandwich. I was without a working nurse call button from December 17th through December 24th. A couple of time that week in the middle of the night, other patients wondered into my room and l had no way to call any of the support staff if needed. This was reported to the nursing staff, rehabilitation therapist and Social Service numerous times. After getting no response or appropriate ressults on the morning of December 24th my wife had a long conversation first with Kaitlyn Lillie, the Director of Social Services and then with Jamie Nuckolls, Administrator for The Terrace of Jacksonville with no explanation as to how to resolve issues. Their answer to resolving issues was to call my wife at home on December 25th, Christmas morning around 8:00 to inform her she had until 10:00am to arrange an ambulance service to pick me up that l was being discharged. It then took them until January 4th, 2022 to order and have delivered my needed durable equipment (wheelchair, bedside commode and a shower chair) for home care. Because my wife stood up to them and pointed out their lack of patient responsibility, they decided to retaliate and get even by kicking me out. Anyone that truly cares for their family will never put them her for care.

Caring and compassionate staff, most truly treat residents like family

This facility is right next to Wyndham lakes senior living… it’s nice when they put a family member here when someone lives at WL… from what I hear it ok… people talk of the care they receive in these rehabilitation and extended care homes… not one person has said - omg it was terrible, I got what I needed and the staff was kind. That’s pretty good these days.

UPDATE 07/05/2022 - A LOT OF THE NEW 5 STAR REVIEWS IN THE LAST 3 TO 4 WEEKS IS FROM EMPLOYEES THAT IS ENCOURAGED TO ADD TO BRING UP THEIR REVIEW RATINGS. THEY THREW MY HUSBAND OUT ON CHRISTMAS DAY WITH LESS THEN 2 HOURS NOTICE BECAUSE I STOOD MY GROUND ABOUT HOW BAD THEY ARE TO THE ADMINISTRATOR, JAMIE NUCKOLLS THE DAY BEFORE. UPDATE 02/26/2022 - Because The Terrace of Jacksonville has received numerous 1 Star reviews for poor patient care, terrible food that is served cold and being dirty and unclean looking, Jamie Nuckolls, Administrator at The Terrace of Jacksonville has now added 5 Star review with no explanation, just to try and increase their reviews percentages. ORIGINAL POST: JANUARY 2022 - As I stated previously my husband was in The Terrace of Jacksonville for 17 days. He was transferred there on December 8th, 2021. Upon arrival the first thing I noticed was the the room did not look as if it had been thoroughly cleaned after the last patient had been discharged. There was dust and dirt all around and under the bed. There was even one of those blue flossing tooth picks that laid in the floor for over a week. During the first 3 days there the so called, and I quote "Administrative Staff" had a meeting with my Husband and myself to introduce themselves. But more on these employees later. Then on the third day there, I receive a call after 8:00 at night from my husband. He had pushed the "Nurse Call Button" for help to go to the bathroom and no one had responded to him. I called the facility and requested the nursing station while my husband was on the other phone and informed them that my husband in room 113 was a fall/risk and needed help. They actually had the nerve to tell me that they just saw the light come on. This tells me that this facility is unkempt and their employees will lie. More to come later....

There are typically long and short term beds in nursing facilities and Medicare qualified. I would call and inquire directly. Hope this helps.

it needs to be a new maintenance person there because the one there is very nasty his name is John. and disrespectful. won't do anything you ask him to do .

He will if it's in the maintenance book. He is one man, taking care of 90 rooms plus the rest of the building. "Hey, John, can you..." I'm sure it gets tiring hearing that 20+ times a day, every day, for as many years as he has been there.

how do i speak with who owns this place
