We loved our stay but want to warn future campers: 1. If you’re coming from Sacramento, make sure you take exit 121 to go through Foresthill and DO NOT take exit 133, which is the first route on google maps. One is a nice easy road and the other is a narrow road with hairpin turns and a sheer drop off. 2. Site 27 is NOT suitable as a group site. The only reason it’s listed as a group is for the extra parking slip. There’s only one suitable space to pitch a large tent and barely any room to sit around the fire. Site 26 on the other hand has a ton of space, albeit not enough parking. We had 11 people there with room for more. Fortunately we had both sites reserved for the weekend. Oh - would also benefit from some Yellowjacket traps. We hung two and caught a couple dozen over the two-night stay. Bathrooms were cleaned regularly and we didn’t smell them outside (and we were literally right next door). 3. Day use parking at the lake fills up quick so go early and bring $5 cash to drop in the slot. Water was clean and refreshing. Will definitely return in the future.

Had a great time camping here! The coolest feature of this campground is the walking trail that circles the lake. Another pro is that there is a dump station conveniently located on the way out for trailers. 4 Stars because there were an insane amount of bugs (yellow jackets and mosquitos) that were out at all hours of the day. The sites are fairly dusty/ dirty. Another downside was that there are no showers, but there are vault toilets. I would recommend bringing a bike and bug spray! The lake is also very rocky… so water shoes recommended. We will be back!

Great place to camp. Pit toilets though.

Yes dogs are allowed but have to be on a leash at all times . I'm 1 of the shirt tail host :D
Was there a couple weeks ago. Full to the top. Gorgeous
Yes I would reserve a spot just to be safe, however we did speak to the camp host and luckily they had a spot or two left open for those like myself that did not reserve. Bring plenty of bug repellent and wasp spray. The water was super low but felt amazing. Over all we had a great time. And will be visiting again.
Yes
What dont fit in the bear box leave in your car
There is a dump station between the dam and boat ramp. It costs $7.00 to use it.
No water or electrical hook ups at all but we do have a water source to fill containers ECT. When here it's safe to drink but very heavy in iron so water is brownish. And there is a dump station on way out heading towards the first hill direction about 1 to 2 miles after leaving camp.
Check recreation.gov for rentals, I didn't see any rental shacks last year, August is perfect to visit!
Check with the host, (Cowboy), they were running generators during the day, but pretty sure they were turned off after 9pm.
Yes we do and there a good size to fit ice chest in ect ... I'm one of the camp host along with my guy hope to see you soon
Yes dogs can go in the water. I believe I most if not all spots have shade
