Holiday Inn Pearl - Jackson Area, an IHG Hotel

Usually, I do not write reviews, whether good or bad, but I must say that I did not enjoy my stay at this hotel. I booked his hotel for two nights (checked out after one night) as I was looking to explore the Mississippi area with my family. When I checked into the hotel at around midnight, my hotel room was disgusting. The area had a thick mildew smell, the toilet smelt like urine, the ceiling above the tub had mold, and the tub clogged after running the water. The best experience I had at this hotel was the customer service from Denise (late-night worker). She was able to switch my family and me to a different room even though this room had its deficiencies. This room had a thick smoke smell to it, although all of the rooms are non-smoking, and we found hair particles inside the bedsheet. Unfortunately, I will not recommend this hotel to anyone; however, to anyone staying at this hotel, I hope their experience is better than mine.

Above and beyond! Our car broke down while traveling and we had to stop last minute in Pearl MS. Despite being very busy, the front desk took time to listen and understand our situation. When we needed to get some things out of our car that was in a nearby shop, they offered to pay our cab fare since it was outside their shuttle range. The room was clean, comfortable, incredibly spacious (with remote controlled window shades!) and reasonably priced. The restaurant in the lobby has a variety of options and was delicious for dinner and breakfast. The front desk staff and manager truly made a stressful situation so much easier. We will come back here for sure.

I visit MS every other month and I stay at this hotel because of the cleanliness of the hotel but mainly the staff. The GM “Jessica” is second to none. On my first stay at the hotel is when I met the GM. It was a Saturday morning my family and I went down to have breakfast, she was our waitress. She was the only waitress but she was fast, friendly, and held a smile the entire meal despite being the only server there. After the meal, I made sure to thank her for all she had done. In doing so, I asked her how long she had been serving and she said…….”well ma’am today is my 1st day as I am filling in due the short staff. I am actually the GM” I could not believe it. From that stay on I have and will always stay at the Holiday Inn Pearl. Because I know if the GM is willing to take off her dress clothes and serve food to the guest, I know I’ll always be taken care of when I stay. Since then on two of my stays she has been there serving food with the same smile and same wonderful attitude❤️

Positive: This hotel will not disappoint! The staff is great and friendly.  The one I communicated most with was staff. The rooms are very roomy and clean. The amenities are awesome! They are very accommodating to make your stay the best it can be. Negative: No.
