They said that they couldn't deposit my refund due to the wrong account number but, they were sent a copy of a bank statement with the account number. Simply BS! Then , when I try to give them the right number, they said they couldn't change anything and would have to send out a check...this was two months ago and still Nothing! I called today and they said that I was on a waiting list to return my refund to the IRS but, that they were backed up to February and it would take around 21 months!! I refuse to wait 4 MORE MONTHS FOR MY MONEY WHEN THEY TOOK THEIRS IMMEDIATELY!! DO NOT USE TAXSLAYER OR Santa Barbara Tax Payers Group!

Tried TaxSlayer for 2021 via IRS FreeFile. Recently retired and hoped to get free e-filing vs. purchased software (downloaded & used HR Block for past several years). Believed I qualified for free e-file for both Fed and state based on IRS FreeFile and TaxSlayer info. Found the online TaxSlayer program to be OK but a far cry from what I was used to with HR Block. Help during program use is inadequate in my opinion. It wouldn't import or upload anything (even though you can supposedly upload pdf's of previous returns) and I had to enter everything manually. Found out only after near completion of entire return that my AGI for 2020 was too high and I didn't qualify for free e-filing (very frustrating to find this out unexpectedly just before e-filing; TaxSlayer could have provided a 'flag' about paying vs. free e-file much earlier in the process! Had no choice but to pay them $69.95 to finish up, and for the same or less I could have used HR Block download!). Website was very slow to respond at times, especially when I was finalizing returns for submission on 4/18 (I know... shouldn't have waited until the last day...). Finally, I got repeated Fed rejections after e-filing and made multiple attempts to correct and re-submit before acceptance. The rejection help info provided by TaxSlayer was insufficient to me. Won't use them again!

Four stars on your preparation for the busiest day in your business. I thoroughly enjoyed the three and a half hours of trying to file an extension while gently being “timed out” and having to log back in. Great fun Tax Slayer! Unfortunately I had to take my fun to another company - who by the way had me on my way within 10 minutes.

I've been using the Tax Slayer software since 2018. I've consistently received poor customer service. I've consistently paid and been constantly told that I can't speak to tax professionals because they're "too busy". There is a receptionist who use to pick up the phone back in 2020 who tells you every time you call that you can't speak to a tax specialist without an appointment and she tries to answer all your questions. When you politely tell her that you would prefer to speak to a tax professional she tells you you can't and that she is the only person who can help you. I think once or twice I actually got the "rare privilege" to speak to an actual tax professional after begging so many times, for a total of 20-30 minutes. If you call them anytime after Mid March they put a recording on their phone line telling you they're too busy to answer and hang up on you after telling you to go online and try and figure out your issues there. I wouldn't even give this service a star but I needed to to post this review. They don't deserve anything at all other than a better business bureau complaint for their horrible customer service. Save yourself the pain and trouble of dealing with these charlatans, go back to Turbo Tax. This company doesn't care about you at all.

Questions & Answers

Does anyone know if employees paid weekly or bi-weekly? Thanks.

Bi weekly

Website rejects 1099-MISC because I put $0 in State Tax info area. Florida has no state tax; therefore, I paid no state tax and the Payer had no State Tax Number. How can I complete inputting the information? This should be simpler.

You should enter information from any tax document EXACTLY as it appears on the paperwork. The Feds know that Florida does not have a state income tax. You're lucky folks!

If you already filed you have to amend your return. In which case you will have to print out the papers and mail them in. Changes can't be made to a return once it's been e-filed

Hey, how can i print out my tax return if i don not have the same phone number and gmail account

Usually, the phone lines are open Monday - Friday, 9am to 5 pm Eastern Standard Time. Try calling back after 9am and you should be able to reach someone.

Do they pay you a $1000.00 the same day you file?

No. If you qualified for a refund advance program (which is now expired), it would still take 48hrs to get that $.
