In the 18 years I've lived in Augusta the DDS here has got better and better. The lady who helped my son and I get his first driving permit today was so welcoming and helpful. The whole process took about 30 minutes, and was very efficient.

I took the road test today and passed by 85 points I was so nervous but the very nice lady who took my paperwork told me don't be nervous you will pass made me feel a whole lot better. Also the lady checking you in told me good luck which helps to put you at ease. I went on a Thursday at 10:00 and it was so much faster than the Tuesday that was so packed they were calling us up to the window before we even sat down which was great you get in and out so fast thanks so much 🙂🚙🚦🛑

Most renewals can be completed online. If you start the process and for some reason you cannot complete it online, you will be directed to make an appointment at the DMV. You'll then be given a date and time to come in for renewal.

If you have an out of state license or ID you will need mail with proof of residence in Georgia, and 2 forms of ID (social security card, birth certificate)
If it is a replacement ID or if your ID has not expired you can. If it is not a replacement ID or if you old ID has expired, you have to make an appointment and go to the local office.
Your dl number is on you license. If you have lost or misplaced your license, you have to go to dds to get a replacement license.

Yes, if this your first time getting a GA id you will need your birth certificate, social security card, and proof of residence but if its for a replacement id then no its not needed
I believe it's under $30. You Maywant to go to there website because now you have to make an appointment before you arrive. Sometimes it's weeks out.

Not being able to do the parallel parking does not make you fail the complete test. You only get points deducted if you can't do that part.

Should be 2 things that prove your new address, you social security card, and old licence. No test necessary. If you go to the website you can get the tansfer of licence information as well as do the preliminary paperwork so you will be ready when you get to the DDS.

For the 17 year old SScard and insurance card. The 17 year will be taking a driver test. You have to wait until the 14 year is 15 to get cleaners permit.
You can order your birth certificate online... I just got mine and it is a legal birth certificate.... only paid 40$ and some change that was including the 18.50$ for ups air delivery
