Statue of Liberty is a must visit for anyone visiting NY. In case you are put up in New Jersey, you càn take a Ferry from Liberty park in New Jersey to reach the statue rather than going all the way to Battery Park in NY. This park is quite well kept and has good frequency of ferries. An advance reservation is recommended though.

Nice view of Manhattan Island. Beautiful park on the edge of the Hudson River. Ideal place to visit Ellis island and the statue because less busy. Nice memorial to the victims of 9/11 next to the old main train station in New Jersey. This park also contains the science museum which allows children several discoveries.
