I used to ride this trail 20+ years ago as a RU student. It was one of the best trails for a day ride.

We love riding our bikes at the canal, to pretty much relax and clear our heads...also to make a run to the creamery on st georges

Great place to visit and take daily hikes with the kids. Very even easy trails and a variety of Reptiles to view. I have found 2 snake pits containing Great Northern Banded Water snakes and Eastern Ribbon and Eastern Garter snakes. There are approximately ten types of turtles you can find basking in the sunlight too. Most people don't know that the canal runs for 77 miles into Philadelphia built by Irish immigrants in 1836 because ships couldn't get up the Raritan river past landing lane bridge at low tide.any people have been buried alongside canal, but there are no headstone to see

For biking or hiking this is the one of my favorite spot so far.

Great question!!! Actually, the answer is "NO", because no motorized vehicles allowed but there is a loophole to it. If it's a gas powered bike, no way, but e-bike that has "petal-assist", then you're good to go! It's also great transportation for anyone with no license due to dui's. The police cannot ticket you and if they try, take it to court and charge's will be dropped. As long as you can show (prove) that your bike has petal-assist.
The park has a curfew. The Trail is near but separate from the park and not sure of any restrictions there
Yes, there is quite a few parking lots.
