The Housatonic River is a great place to relax and enjoy a sunny day. It's a straight shot down Sunnyside elementary school. There's a baseball field and ample free parking. It's a good place to bring a small snack or eat lunch. It's primarily a boat launching ramp.

Yes you can. This is brackish water so there's a good chance you'll catch a variety of fresh and saltwater fish. It's a great spot for striped bass when they start running, but it does tend to get a lot of traffic during that time. I have both saltwater and freshwater license when I fish there just to be sure.
