Hi my name is Amber kahler and I’ve lived in Safeharbor for about two months The showers are constantly broken the AC was also broken, I also have had multiple altercations with a resident and they did nothing about it… my case worker was a joke even though I heard that multiple caseworkers outside of Safeharbor at the time she didn’t have the audacity to call them… at night homeless people come trying to get in as a resident and they couldn’t they kick residence out just because they either fight with staff or fight with other residents ….. so much drama to the points that you feel like you are back in High school I will say this though was very clean the residents kept it clean Being the youngest person at the shelter for the two months I’ve created enemies but also created some friends with other women that I will never forget Being a person in the LGBTQ plus community I would not recommend the shelter just because they did not use my preferred name or pronouns they kind of just ignored it The staff manager on duty and there are multiple most of them just used by Dead name and it was very triggering I had asked my parents to pick me up sometimes up to five days a week just because the drama and the overstimulation was too much for me to handle

Sent there by Lehigh Health network. Within a couple weeks had personal property stolen or damaged, missed critical incoming doctor referral messages, had a nasty public physical altercation by staff in front of volunteers and other homeless people. COVID masks not being universally worn by staff or residents. Open drug use observed by staff but still continues. Restrooms and showers constantly broken. Heat non existent. Everyone is sick from some kind of virus or bacteria. Often out of date food served and residents returning from work or outside appointments frequently handle group foodstuffs without first washing/sanitizing hands. When I left I tested positive for listeria and salmonella at the same hospital that sent me. I’ve seen better run ant farms.

People need to understand, this is a SOBER LIVING FACILITY! It is small and is not equipped to house people who are not committed to recovery! It is not a homeless shelter!!! Basically if you are not a resident it is a drop in center, for the homeless at night. The staff is doing the best they can with what theyare provided. In my opinion they are doing the Citu of Easton a great service and should be commended! Drug addicts find it easier to point the finger when the problem is usually their selves.

I was discriminated twice by Safe Harbor. Very unprofessional facility disgusting how I was treated by the workers there this is not a place to go to. Safe Harbor is a very toxic environment to be at I will no longer be going there I will be getting my lawyer to handle my situation. Safe Harbor staff need to understand to stop thinking about their money on their paychecks and start thinking about the homeless people that go there as well as the residents that live there. I am disgusted with this facility Safe Harbor should be shut down completely no I'm not sorry for this post this is how I feel.

Just call them before you head over to make sure someone is there to accept it. If not, I'd just leave it with a note.
You don't have to sign up. Sunday through Friday they have a day program that runs from 10 am to 1:30 pm. You can get clothes, food, and they serve a pretty good lunch.
