I had high expectations for purchasing a product for my dog from Handicapped Pets. While I understand that their items are of very high quality, I am frustrated with the return/exchange policy. I ordered an item and needed a different size so it was recommended that I return the original and purchase another size. I returned the item after thoroughly cleaning it of any fur (although there were a few spots where velcro had pulled on the fabric which was unavoidable when fitting it to my dog) that my dog had shed while trying it on. I was charged for Return Shipping and a 20% restocking fee so I paid $35 for the opportunity to find out it did not fit my pet?! I would not recommend purchasing from this company unless you are ABSOLUTELY sure that it fits your pet ahead of time :/

After my dog Barkley had surgery for IVDD, he needed a harness during his recovery. I found Walkin' Pets online and was able to find a harness for Barkley. But I just want to say make sure you have proper measurements or weight for your fur baby. Unfortunately the first harness I purchased was too big, but Walkin' Pets were great in helping find the right size. Barkley still needs the harness for help walking due to still having weakness in his hind legs. But if you are ever in the same predicament or your fur babies need assistance definitely look into Walkin Pets by handicap.

While the wheelchair purchase was a success, the harness has been an utter failure. The Velcro is coming off the harness in less than 3 months of use. I’ve reached out and been told to fix it myself - more money and I don’t have the tools, or I can clean it and send it back leaving my dog without support and us with more money out of our pockets. This has been utterly disappointing. It’s not like the harness was $30, it was almost $300. I would not buy another harness from here. I know expectations lead to disappointment, and my expectations did just that with this experience. I sadly, expected we’d be taken care of. Thanks for your reply. But, I have called. Several times. I’ve also emailed. There is no resolution on this and I’m still beyond upset we spent so much money for it to fall apart in less than 3 months. I stand by everything I’ve said. Unlike you. Your quality is needing some help as is the customer service when things like this happen. It’s unacceptable to expect more money AND leave my dog without support.

I feel like I need to warn someone before they lose too much money. The return policy sounds great until you actually use it. If I didn’t get my money back then I doubt anyone will. If your item does not work out you can expect to lose a significant amount of money

I haven't had to do a return but if you go to there site they may have instructions or a number to call. They are a very reputable company. Best of luck. Hope your pet gets well soon.

Hi.We are looking for a better no knuckling brace. He has a small wound in between the toes where the string from the brace goes, so we cant use that one. It does great for the ankle. But we just need one for the front of the paw where his toes are.

Hi Pam. I'd recommend getting advice from a veterinarian. You might be able to use our adjustable splint, the Walkin' Fit, to keep his paw in the right position. Warm Regards, Mark Robinson.

Handicappedpets. Com does not personally adopt dogs but we do know there is a Dachshund rescue located in Massachusetts and there is also one in Rhode Island. Search dachshund rescues near me
