This is not a real non profit. This is someone’s failed passion project that they are propping up with state funding that is being spent in very suspicious ways. It is not actually even using the funding they receive properly. If you work here, be expected to be asked to do work completely uncompensated and if you push back on that you’ll lose your position. The technology is completely defunct despite the fact that they claim to be a technology company. They have inaccurate reports for their funders, inaccurate metrics for their websites, the backends of their websites are broken, everything they receive their funding based off of is working on broken systems because their IT is also completely defunct. In addition to that, the HR at this establishment is not only not real HR but they actually don’t do their basic obligations within legal timelines on their end. They will not investigate legitimate complaints to them or interact with you in any way that is typical of even bad HR. And HR is usually bad, so imagine how bad it has to be here to say this. Management is abusive and horrendous. They take advantage of people who actually have good intentions and want to serve the community, even though they clearly have no interest in fulfilling the mission they claim. They make people work crazy hours uncompensated because they take advantage of this. They recently hired a new manager to oversee the New York programs who realistically does nothing all day besides going to meetings with her reports to try to fix this problem, but she actually was also a problem because management clearly hired someone that was as toxic as them.

They falsely advertise having information to help you find a pro bono lawyer, and when all they do is a google search. The also don’t inform you that they only help veterans and seniors (over 65) to me a group chat that can be easily misinformed and taken advantage of. I think they are a scam to get you to view their site and sign your email address up to a bunch of junk mail. Don’t waste your time.
